Growing up in a place called the golden isles makes it pretty hard to leave, but I talked a big game in high school about going off to college so I gave myself no choice. 6 years ago, I moved from a small town in South Georgia (shoutout 9-1-2!) to Boston to hit the books at Suffolk University where I got both my BSBA ‘16 and MBA ‘18 with a focus on market research and strategy.
*record scratch* In the short 3 months between my undergraduate and graduate experience, I took a risk and moved home to join a startup. First as a marketing consultant then marketing director for a massive, mobile 100-foot culinary competition kitchen, I got to experience some pretty cool work-perks. Our truck was a feature at the Super Bowl LI, the 2017 PGA Masters Championship, and used by Kate Upton at the 2017 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue launch! Not bad for a millennial, huh?
Kicking off my career at 451 Agency as an Associate Social Strategist makes perfect sense considering most of my time outside of work is spent egging on fast-food chain Twitter feuds or sourcing the latest and greatest memes the internet has to offer us (Yodel Boy anyone?). When I occasionally look up from my phone, I can be found stargazing, traveling the world near and far, and making It’s Always Sunny references.
