I am not Russian, despite what my name may imply. When I was born I was originally named Alexandra. My family, jokingly, began to call me “Czarina” after the final empress of Russia: Czarina Alexandra Romanov. Eventually, the name stuck. l legally changed my name when I was fifteen to Czarina, and that is who I have been ever since!
I grew up with a sculptor for a father and a writer for a mother, so I’ve been making things since I came out of the womb. When I began attending MassArt I decided that the life of a fine artist wasn’t for me, so I tried my hand at design. I discovered a love for graphic and communication design which has lead me to where I am today.
I spent the better part of my college career on a Bollywood dance team. For a time, I worked at a Renaissance Fair (outfit, accent, and all.) I’m a vegan, but not the scary kind. And aside from design, I have a passion for performing arts, illustration, creative nonfiction writing, plant-based cooking, and saving the planet.
