Early in my career, I worked at several local-area, venture-backed, startups. I joined Art Technology Group in 1999 at an incredibly exciting time to be part of the company – a recent hugely successful IPO, amazing growth, charismatic founders, and some of the smartest people I have ever had the privilege to work with. It felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The tech bubble burst and so did my love affair with high-tech startups. Determined to experience the other side of the equation, I joined the blue-chip venture capital company, Highland Capital Partners to learn more about where the money comes from. As Director of Marketing I managed the firm’s communication and brand marketing as well as key strategic market, portfolio, and entrepreneurial development initiatives. After more than 13 years at Highland, I knew it was time to experience something entirely different.
My experience taught me that to produce great work you must truly love what you are doing and where you are doing it. I decided to take my time and find the most perfect opportunity to present itself. And it did in the form of 451 Agency! I came on board in March of 2016 to run the internal marketing group leveraging the award-winning talents of the creative, digital, advertising, and PR teams to build and promote 451 Agency’s brand.
It has been the best experience of my career. It feels amazing to be back in an environment chock full of enthusiasm and crazy smart brains. Working alongside teams with a fierce dedication to producing cutting-edge work, and an executive leadership team that recognizes that the agency they are building is something special.
